Amazing E=Trac day

I've had my ET for about a month now and while each hunt has proved it an amazing detector, it just keeps getting better. I bought the ET because I needed some serious depth. Our city park is 125 years old and rests along side the Arkansas river that floods on average every 30-40 years leaving a 3-6" deposit of mud. This makes the older coins very very deep. I've hunted it for 20 years with many different detectors and with a DFX for the last 6 years. While I have cleared many coins down to roughly 9-10", I knew there were many more beyond the reach of most detectors. Yesterday I took the ET to one of the hardest hit areas and once again it did what it does best. Pull that deep silver.

In a fairly small area I was able to pull 7 silver coins and the amazing part was 1 walking half and 3 quarters. Dimes I can understand, but these bigger silvers had managed to elude many good detectors until now. Another amazing moment was when I got what the ET thought was a good target. It was deep and when I pulled out a rusted piece of iron I thought the ET had just made a mistake. I put the piece on the ground and the ET still was telling me it wasn't just iron, so I put it in my pouch to inspect when I get home. After cleaning it off I noticed a washer under a bolt looked a bit odd. A little more cleaning revealed it was not a washer but a token that had been used as a washer.

Here is my coins from the hard hit park.

Here is that piece of rusted iron with a token used as a washer. A real testament to the ET's ability to find good stuff among iron.

I've been lurking and am noticing a trend with new E-Trac users that are already experienced with other detectors. By about the one month mark they are making some great finds, and in many instances like you, they knew the items were there below, but just out of reach with other detectors. Dare I say you could be considered a Poster Child for the E-Trac?:)

I spent many many months researching my top choices. Being somewhat of a White's fan for the last 20 some years of course I was looking at the V3 as well. I had 2 concerns about the ET one being weight and the other being a lack of gold finds. I've found 3 gold pieces so far, so the concern is gone, and I've hunted up to 5 hours solid and had no soreness, so that concern is gone. Poster child? perhaps, all I can say to those considering the ET is give it the time to prove itself, and it will amaze you. I had expected to find a few deep silver missed by others, but I hadn't expected the results I'm getting. Simply one amazing piece of technology.

None of these items were less than 7" deep many as deep as 10". As you can see, so far I'm only getting back to the 30's and 40's. This park is 125 years old so I know the really old stuff is still there. I have no doubt that as I learn the ET will get me there.

WoW!! Thats some Great finds!! I must say i have been feeling the same way you are..I used my Se for 2 years and didnt think it could get any better than that!Well after using the E-Trac for 3 months Its Been Great! I get All the depth and I personally feel i get Better ID on Deep Targets than I did with the SE..The machine is a Dream to use.Very comfortable to swing ..No messing around with all kinds of settings just to get it to work on each site.Glad to see you and that E-Trac are getting along .You sure seem to have a handle on it :) Great pics..HH

I have to agree with all.We do swing the best unit out there and the results are predictable.Great finds like the ones in this post

Went back again today and the ET didn't let me down. Pulled 2 mercs(1935 and 1942) 1 wheat and a brass? ball that was very deep.

You sure you dont have some kinda silver magnet or something on the end of that stick your swinging? :) You heading back later?ill be looking for the pics Heheh .Take care .HH

No doubt the E-TRAC is a serious machine for those "worked out" sites.

Congratulations! Great Token find southy! Usage of coins and tokens for other uses isn't unheard of but it is rare. It must have been an "iffy" signal?

Ok, I have been using a Mine lab sovereign XS for 12 years. I have found a number of coins at the 8 to 10 inch depth, and have very pleased with the unit. I guess my question would be after looking at the Etrack posts for a few months, Is it time for me to update to a Etrack? Are there any XS users out there that have switched?

Very nice finds, glad to see the E-trac is continuing to pull silver from the hunted out parks.I have a couple of hunted out parks that I want check with the E-track,but we have not had any rain since I bought it,untill last night.A couple more days of rain in the forcast, should be able to check them this week. Thanks for showing your finds.

The difference between the XS and E-trac is more than a couple inches of depth. The Xs is a good machine, probally still one of the best on a salt water beach, turn it on and go anywhere between wet and dry sand. But it is way slower than the E-trac ,with all the new features the E-trac is a very good machine,as can be seen by the finds posted.

Well I just couldn't resist one more trip to the park, besides, I had 9 silvers and need that one more. A quick hunt yielded one more silver dime and 3 more wheats bringing my total to 10 silvers and 9 wheats. Not very often I go home with more silver than wheats. Yes, I was doing a bit of cherry picking. My buddies were a bit put out about my seemly ability to pull silvers at will from a park we had all hit hard for years. John pulled 1 wheat but that was it. quite a contrast in our finds.

Here is my last pull for the day.

That was a Great set of Hunts you had there.More silver than wheats is my kinda Hunt :) Maybe run a larger coil thru now to get to those deeper ones you mentioned. What kinda pattern ,and settings were you running on this site??And did you use auto or manual sens?Thx for sharing your Hunt,Was a great one.

What kinda pattern ,and settings were you running on this site??And did you use auto or manual sens?

I use a pretty much open pattern. Kind of a quick iron mask with only the lower iron blocked. Sorry for that bad picture, but this is the pattern I use.

I use auto sens with a +3. Right now I'm still in the learning stage so I'm watching the Sens meters to see what the ET thinks I should be running. I may try a manual setting later.

Im using Auto sens plus 3 also..On the really deep iffy ones..I just go into manual sens fast and double checkem.I think auto is the way to go.The amchine runs so smooth and if you notice the computer is always changing the sens as we detect. This tells me manual sens is gonna backfire on me alot during the hunt.Auto plus 3 seems to be the ticket so far for me.You know the pattern im using in the parks. At the older sites im running either relic or quickmask 26.Thx for sharing your set-up.HH

Great results for just one month on the E-Trac. I can't imagine digging something as deep at 8-10" in the hard pan soil of California. I would love to test my E-trac on ground like that some time. Congrats!
