Andy's new "The Minelab Explorer & E-Trac Handbook.....

Steve(MS)

New member
Just got Andy's new book and took some time scan reading. IMO this is a must have book for those owners of the Explorers or the Etrac. For those looking for info on settings and techniques, this book is chock-full of useful information from Andy as well as info from other Explorer-E-Trac users, names you will recognize.
Even if you don't have an Explorer or E-Trac, this book will be informative about all the various settings, and what they do on these high performance metal detectors.
This is a well thought out book that you will enjoy reading and looking through at all the pictures, diagrams, charts, etc.
Some of you have already read about his book on the other ML forums but don't miss out on this one, it's a keeper.

I have to second your post Steve. Andy did a fantastic job on this one. 188 pages in the standard 8.5 X 11 format, chock full of information, stories, pictures, even some Bio's on some of Findmall's best.

Is the book divided into sections? One for the Explorer and another for the E-Trac? or do the chapters/book combine both throughout? I have the Explorer XS & S book and it has been very helpful in learning the SE, but just wnating to learn it even more. Any other info. you can give about the book would be great.

Yes and no....... With so much in common, it covers Explorers and E-Trac at the same time, noting the differences. Artfully done. He does have spererate chapters though for understanding the controls for Explorer and E-trac.

Larry,
Would you say that this book covers the Explorer SE much more so than the XS & S book? Iknow that there are differences between the SE and the previous models, but I'm not sure I would want to have a book that duplicates what has already been written. I do believe that Andy's book has helped me to understand a mchine that I would have given up on so much sooner if it were not for what he had written, but just would like to know if the new book covers more of the SE.
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving
DJH

I can't say that he covers just the SE better, although he does. Where the book excels is a lot of information from some of the best hunters from around the world with what works for them and why. No matter how good you are, you are sure to learn something new, even if it helps you find just one more deep target, it could very well pay for the price of the book. I think it is $$ well spent.

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving DJH........I'm still stuffed.

I felt the book gave a lot more information not previously published about the Explorer and E-Trac. You finally got a little more of the operating information some of us wanted to know. You also could see from the location of those people he used in his book how diverse the settings can be with great success. Nice book Andy. I agree at such a low cost its worth the money anytime you can get this kind of info for your hobby.

We can't link to commercial sites, but if you Google Andy Sabisch, you can take your pick.

Hi Danny,
Just saw your post, where in Mississippi are you located?
I live about 20 miles northwest of Grenada MS.

There is a copy on the auction site right now for $20. Kellyco has it as well. Many dealers carry it as well if those don't work for you. Simply good "The Minelab Explorer & E-Trac Handbook" and you should get links.

Also I'm told there is a link on the top of this site where it's sold, I haven't seen that but that's what I hear.

Everyone is saying the new book is a 'must have' tool for learning the details of shortening the learning curve. IMHO this is a gross understatement. It is the best tutorial on the Explorer/Etrack in print, period........Having said that; If you tore ALL the pages out and fed them to your dog.........except pages 85&86, the cost would be returned to you.....tenfold. Just my take!

http://www.sabischbooks.com, I got my book direct from his website. I agree with the others it is a must read.

Danny thank you for your expertise. I have a couple of questions maybe you can ansewer. 1. Minelab 2100v2 pi gold detector, how would you evaluate useing a Minelab SE Pro in the Arizona desert to detect GOLD? Thank you papa EMAIL trzrhntr@Q.com

Minelab should include this book with every detector.....without a doubt!

I tried to find the link to the SE emulator, but it is not on the owner's web site and the link here on the forum is no good. Anybody know how to get it? Thanks.
