Hi to all. My name is Bill (hoser) and today my new Etrac will be delivered. WOOHOO! I'm not a newby to detecting but I am a newby to Minelab so I sure hope you all can help this old fool. Up till now I was swinging a DFX and it served me pretty well but when I saw all the finds that ETrac owners were making I just had to have one. I know its gonna take some getting used to but I'm up for the challenge.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and see the finds ya'll are making. Right now I'm suffering from cabin fever with all the snow we have.
But it will give me plenty of time to TRY and learn the ETrac. I am soooo pumped about this machine. In fact I'll have to go back over all the areas that I found silver before and see just what I missed.
This looks like a great forum.

And there is a ton of info there to digest. I'm really looking forward to learning this machine and I WILL! Even though there is snow on the ground I was able to take it outside and play for a short time and so far I like what I'm seeing. I know air tests are not a good indicator but I threw a few coins both silver and clad on the ground or should I say hard packed snow.
and was pleasently surprised at how far away I could get and still pick up the targets. Now I'm really hating winter. Andy's book is on the way and I can't wait to start going through that to get my act together. There are so many places that I want to go back over that had wheaties in them but no silver showed up for me. If I pick any silver out of those places I will have my hands full for a long time thats for sure. The first place I want to check is where I found two barber quarters twenty feet apart, and around 8" deep with the DFX. In my mind I just know there has to be more and I'm gonna find them. With your help and Andy's book to learn from thats exactly what I am gonna do too. This is going to be a great season for me.
