Antique Padlock Dug At Old Farm House

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
I dug this old International Harvest Co. padlock at an old farm house last week - this 100 + yr. old house burned down around 1995.
Internet research tells me that this lock was mfg. for the I.H. Tractor Company by the Eagle Lock Co. from Connecticut - around 1920.
This is called a - "6 - Lever - Pancake" type padlock - measures 2 1/2" in diameter and it's made of solid brass.

My hunting buddy Ed also dug an 1894 Barber Dime that's in real nice condition at this site - on the same day - sorry I don't have a photo of the dime.

We plan on going back to this site in the very near future !

Bet that one made your ears ring didn't it?

Cool lock and hope to see the other finds.

Nice. Did you clean it with anything special?

Bilko, I soaked the padlock in a Lye bath over night and cleaned it with a soft wire brush that's made of brass.
