Anyone else tried to register as a new User w/ Minelab recently?

Have been trying for 24 hours to register as a new user on Minelab.com so I can upgrade the firmware in my CTX3030. I'm caught in an infinity loop where I never get an acknowledge email from Minelab. Re-attempts show that my desired user name and unique phone number are still allowed, so somethings clearly broken on their end. Customer service phone number is swamped. Via e-mail they say they're going to direct my concern to Minelab Australia?!

Just wanted to know if my issue is unique or if anyone else is having issues registering as a new user.

Thanks!

A

I did this past weekend. Worked Ok then. I installed Xchange 2 so I had to register as new user

Happens to me each time I log in. I now need to creat a new username and password each time I want to go to the site. Very frustrating that can be easily solved!

Hmmm. Thanks guys. Glad it's not just me or my hardware.

Something sounds wonky over there. If I get any useful feedback, I'll let you know!

Does this mean if I get a new computer, which I am, and I download the xChange 2 program into the new computer, I will have to re-register with a new username and password?

I doubt it unearth. If you've already got a user and password account set up, you should be good to go. My issue is that I can't even get that far. I plugged in my CTX to my computer yesterday, opened up Xchange2 and got a big 'ol message about the firmware being out of date. Tried to register as a new user (for the first time) and had no luck, as described above. Still haven't heard anything further from Minelab...

Here's the latest from Minelab:
"We apologize for the inconvenience. We were unable to locate your information in the system, however, we have forwarded your concern to our web team to check into the situation to see if they may assist you. We will reach out to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience! Minelab Americas"

I'm not sure they're grasping what I'm trying to tell them. OF COURSE THEY CAN'T FIND MY INFORMATION IN THE SYSTEM! Their system won't TAKE my information!!!! <pant><pant><pant>

Good thing it's not going to be breaking 25 degrees for the next week. It might take that long to sort this out!

Latest from Minelab on their webiste/User Registration Issues;

"I know I tried it myself and had the same results. My contact in Australia needs this information so he can figure out what

Got caught yesterday in that endless loop situation because I was logged on. This was when I was trying to do my warranty registration. It kept kicking me off telling me your user ID is already in use. Re log wit new user ID. But it requires you to be logged on to register. I just outsmarted the system. Keep playing with it and use your imagination. Sooner or later you will punch through.

went thru the same thing... took many times, then it worked, tried to log in a day later and nothing but trouble. harder to login than it is to learn the CTX!!

OK, now this is just getting strange...

Minelab Australia wrote just now,
"I apologise for any inconvenience our registration process may have caused you. We are currently looking into the matter. I have gone ahead and activated your account with the following details:
Username: XXXXXX (deleted for forum)
Password: XXXXXX (deleted for forum)
Once logged in, please change your password to whatever suits you."

Tried on both minelab.com and in Xchange2...NOOOOOOOO Dice! Doesn't work on either. Now that is really frustrating! They go in and set it up an account on their end and I still can't log in! Come on Minelab! Sort it out lads!

The problem might be on your end and not Minelab's. Can you have a friend try to log you on with their computer? You might have something blocking you from logging on such as anti-malware software or something.

You might have a point. I am having log in problems using a Macintosh. Seems like Mac's and Minelab do not get along!

All, another round of e-mails with customer service rep in Australia has it sorted. For the record: I DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON MY END. It wouldn't work, wouldn't work, wouldn't work, they sorted whatever was dodgy on their end and now it works fine. They set up my username and gave me a password that on the first go didn't work, but does now.

Glad to hear they got it working.

Registered last week, it took several tries before it worked. Also took several attempts to get the xchange2 software to install.

I registered today. Registration, download, and install quick and easy. They must be listening.

registered a few days ago, went well. got my ctx today and update of the firmware went smooth too.

I happened to let it slip in one of my emails that the forums were showing they were having issues with the registration process, so hopefully they've fixed whatever the issue was. I messed around with the CTX via xChange2 last night and I can see I'm going to have to spend some time getting used to their file organization system. Some of GfH's programs I downloaded and installed were showing up in weird locations...
