Anyone ever found one of these? Old Railroad Switch Key

Found this about a month ago. Cleaned it up with electrolysis , and saw it marked " L & N RR Co." Researched, and found it is from the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, and is from the 1890's. Didn't even know it was an old switch key until last night. I may start collecting these.

Most Railroad items are very 'collectible'. Nice find.

Very nice historical, collectible, cool find! Thanks for sharing with us. I'll bet that was a "no-no"...loosing one of those. Thanks for the picture.

Very neat find! I'll bet there's a lot of collectors that would like to have that baby.

Maybe. They'll have to pry it from my 4 year old. He's got a death grip on it. Big "Thomas the Train" fan. The minute I mentioned Railroad, it was his.

I've never found that type of key - but I did find a cool looking Slot Machine key on a beach in Maine last summer.
Theres a lot of Railroad & Lock + Key sites on the internet - you should be able to find out the complete history and value of the key.

Thanks E-TRAC-OHIO. I actually emailed a guy from a website I saw. He was suoer nice, and said mine was from the 1890's, but a common model. It is still a neat find. I'll bet that slot machine key is cool.
