I have the DVR set. I saw a commerical on travel channel and it looked OK. Ill give it a shot. Boom baby was horrible and i cant watch diggers and their stupid civ nectar lingo any longer so im hoping for the best. watched these guys on you-tube for awhile and hopefully they are not as silly as some of their recent videos.

Bill claims that the craziness has been toned down, so we shall see.

Gave up tv years ago. Now I'm addicted to good books....and still sitting on my duff.
 
If this show isn't WAY more on the real side then there isn't going to be one that will.
I saw the interview with them and they talked about how hard it is to do what they do, getting lime disease twice,
hard long days,
The work in the research,
stating that they sometimes take a new person with them that many times won't make it past Noon.

I don't think they have the made up names of stuff they find, but Bill's friend does really get excited when he finds something neat, but I don't think its fake (if they don't add anything to it)

If I had anymore than a TV antenna where I could get the broadcast I would at least watch ONE episode of it. It may be our last hope for this hobby on TV.

No I will Not. I have experienced the damage that television shows are doing to our hobby by losing permission to hunt an area that had high potential for civil war relics due to the landowner having seen just one show on television.

Well, those video clips look pretty good, there finding trash, more trash, moving locations, finding something good but not piles of gold.
They look to be hunting in OPEN areas not land owner property.
Some excitement, but Bill's side kick is really like that.

From the clips it looks pretty good!

The problem for me is all I have is an antenna, so I'll not be able to watch it unless it show up on the internet sometime later on.

I watched the first 15 minutes and I have never seen two grown adults get so excited over finding an iron nail and a half of a brick.........:biggrin:

But then again, they are sure they belonged to Blackbeard........:rofl:

This show should be on the Saturday morning cartoons for kids.
 
Dig wars sucks. I had high hopes for it with Chicago Ron on it. Did anyone see his show on National Geographic called "Mudlarks". Or something to that effect?
It was very tasteful and very historically geared and was a marvelous show. It was a 1 time show but it was brilliantly done, no silliness at all. He narrated it and was very intelligent and articulate. If "Dig Wars" is the only thing you've seen him on please, do yourself a favor and try to find the Mudlarks. I think it's on Youtube but aired on Natgeo. Night and day difference from dig wars. Just shows you how the producers can make or break a great idea and show.
Dig fellas I still rank a peg below diggers. But entertaining anyway. I will prob keep watching and that's the boom line when it comes to if these shows are successful or not. Dig wars I couldn't stomach any longer. 3 episodes was enough for me.
 
I saw about the last 10 minutes of the show tonight they were in New Mexico looking for Billy the Kid. They found a horse shoe and said horse shoes
were forged steel and cast iron. I haven't ever heard of cast iron horse shoes have I missed something. Didn't see enough of the show to rate it.
 
I thought it was better than American Diggers, but I wish they'd just let the guys shut up and detect. Anybody else have Bill Ladd repeatedly saying "Howad" still ringing in their ears? I watch them all regardless.
 
Watched all I could stand. About twenty minutes. They need to stop trying so hard and just calm down. I doubt this one is going to last very long.
 
What a disappointing act by Bill and Howard. Couldn't stand to watch it. Silly and goofy would sum up the show. Bill's videos in the past have been outstanding but this one is a loser.
 
If these yahoo's showed up anywheres and pulled out there shovels and digging tools medal detecting would be banned forever after.....

This is really doing us all a disservice and turning people off to Metal detecting people who want to detect someplace and not dig huge gaping holes...
