Had about decided to give up on the big field as good targets of any kind had become few. There was a stretch between the field and a baseball field I hadn't spent much time on, so was thinking of working that a bit. As I drove up to the spot, I noticed the mowers were mowing the big field and had just finished mowing the front part where I (we) usually park. The last time they mowed the field they hadn't mowed the front stretch and the grass had gotten very tall. We have all made sweeps over the front area and it is quite a bit trashier then out in the field. Consequently, I decided to give it a good shot and switched from the 11"dd to the 5"dd. Right off the bat I hit a shallow wheat cent about 2" away from a piece of can slaw. I ended up digging several ring tabs that were bouncing around the nickel range and did end up digging 3 nickels, 1 a 1921 Buffalo. Also sniffed out 2 Mercury dimes, a 38 and a 45, along with a couple pieces of clad and a Memorial cent. It should also be mentioned that I had hunted this front area a few years ago with a CZ3D and my regular F 75, and had taken several silvers out of it back then. F 75 LTD, 5" coil, sen 90, disc 4, B P mode, 4h tones and a g b of 66-67. HH jim tn
