Barber - Indian And Some Wheats

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
I went back to an old church that I hunted last year. Last season I found a few coins on the grass around the church but most of the old coins I found were 3" to 5" down in the hard packed - gravel parking lot. Most of the coins were in pretty good condition because the stone was packed down so hard that the coins were kind of locked in place. The bad news is that when I went back to the church last weekend they had just put a new layer of stone down in the parking lot that was an average of 3" deep - so now I was going to have to hunt through a total of 6" to 8" of one inch stone and hard packed dirt. Even with all these obstacles - the E-Trac still managed to give me very accurate target ID's on every coin - I knew that the Barber Dime was a Dime - the Indian Cent was and Indian Cent and the Wheat Cent's were Wheat Cents before I dug them - this machine never ceases to amaze me !!!

Wow, fantastic finds.

Your a better man than I......I don't go near parking lots and driveways cause thats alot of digging my friend. Tried it once and shovel wouldn't cut it so I used a heavy screwdriver. It did work but boy it takes long. Looks to have been worth it for you though!!

Nice finds Mark, congrats, you are doing great this year. -- Randy
