Beach Detecting

I know this topic has been brought up before, but I would like an honest answer of how the Deus does on the beach. I do not wade or detect over my ankles. Mostly I hunt dry sand and wet. I go to the beach 3 weeks out of the year. I primarily hunt in the dirt for relics and coins the rest of the year. I am just looking for a dirt machine that can be used at the beach on occasion. I really only can afford one detector,so that's why my choice is important. Thanks in advance.

I think I would advise renting an AT Pro or equivalent machine or pick up a used one as a decent economic solution for the 3 weeks. Even if you are in ankle deep water you risk loosing balance and end up with a drowned device.

The Deus will work in the water and there are kits to make it waterproof, but in salt water there are better machines out there.
Wet sand it will do pretty well, but don't touch it to the sand or it will false.
Dry sand it is hard to beat.
Separates fast and is deep.
I don't hunt salt beaches but once a year, so my results are just my short trips.
The Deus work well for me and I found some great finds.
In the dirt for relics and coins, for me it's the only one to use.

I use the Deus all the time on dry sand using the Sifter program, it is deep and quiet, but in the wet sand and in water i use the Equinox 600, i don't like the Nox in the dry sand but in the wet it is a killer.
