Beach/Water - Scoop/Sifter Recommendations

Hey Pilot - Go the the Beach and Water / Scuba Dive Detecting Forum. They have tons of posts concerning scoop recommendations. Some of them are fairly recent. You could do a search on that forum as well.
Be careful using hip waders in the surf, specially if you are hunting an area that has a quick drop off, like a sand bar. There have been MDers that have drowned using hip waders. The only other thing you'll need is some good rain gear, just in case you get caught in a sudden storm, some nice warm clothes, and a pair of cut proof gloves.
