Brand & model of your shovel & digging tool

I'm just curious as to the brand and model of shovels & digging tools that some of you use. I want to upgrade since I am only using very cheap ones but some of the prices on the high end products give me pause. Is it worth the high price for a good shovel and digger? Let me hear your thoughts.

Been using Lesche/Predator for years=no problems= others broke or bent, they cost more, but i never broke or bent one, if I did they are guaranteed

I use the Lesche/Predator "D"-Handle shovel.... have been for 5 or 6 years now. I have never had any trouble with it, and had broken so many of the others. I also have their Orange handled digging trowel, and haven't been able to hurt it either. In the water, I use the RTG stainless scoops.... one hand held, and the other long handled. As many here that have detected well-longer than I have, I also have learned that you can spend more for quality tools, and they will far outlast and in the long run.... be cheaper to use than the cheaper stuff.

Lesche digging tool. It's nearly indestructible. My wife almost choked me when I told her I paid $35 for what she thought was a garden trowel. If I had the $$$ I would buy another one and keep it under my pillow.

believe it or not!.. some internet dealers used to give 'em as gifts IF you bought a detector,..although haven't seen this offered for many years now!

I use Predator Model 88 also - I love it - lots of leverage. I also have a small well built trowel and a smaller relic shovel. In water I use long T handled stainless scoop and have small scoop for dry sand. I like em all. Good luck and HH.

Tru Temper 7-in-1 garden trowel from Lowes. I ground off the root notch to make a point instead. Also will soon be carrying a Cold Steel Delta Dart from poorfish on ebay for a coin popper/low profile digger.

I was actually looking at the Predator model 88 shovel before making the post.
Seeing all the great reviews for it here, I think I have found my new shovel.

I use a Predator Model 88 Hercules. Very good shovel and cuts a great plug, Beale.

The Hercules is my favorite digger for coin shooing..

I use a predetor model 56 and it digs thru anything and is like a Roman sword a rabbit ran out in front of me and i threw it at the rabbit and almost cut it in half , dispite to say if a mountaian lion came after me it would handle that to or a pit bull its more than a digging tool then for parks i use a wilcox 18' digger it has great prying pwoer and of course the leshe knife i have tried making my own tools but i have to admitt the formentioned tools work so much better now quit sqrewing around whith your plastic plasand tools and get some that work Gunnar MN

I went and looked on the Predator Tools website but did not see a model 56. I jumps from model 55 to 58.
Oh well, must be a older model or they stopped making it for some reason.

I use a Chelsea Edge knive,and a Nisaku digging knife ,IMHO as good as a leshe knife ,and cheaper too.They both have a straight edge and a serated edge.The Nisaku will cut you in a heartbeat if not careful,thats how sharp it is . It has a really wicked serrated edge.The Chelsea has more refinded edges and is good for tighter areas and holes.The Nisaku has a deep longer blade with depth markings,both are stainless which is a plus,and both have nice wood handles.

Lesche hand digger (best i have ever owned) and a military camp shovel. not the best out there but good enough for the few times i use it.

Anything made by Lesche / Predator is fantastic !

I used to have to straighten my Gator digger out in a vise every time I got home !
