Chinese Coins

Jim D

New member
I went medal detecting Tuesday evening late hoping to find some silver
but it didn't happen.:nopity: may have been the last hunt of the year seeing
that we have freezing cold temps coming and several inches of snow.
I found a couple of what is called Chinese cash coins. One of them was very
thin and bent just a little and I could just barely make some detail on it.
As you can see I snapped it into trying to straighten it. HH

Cool finds !
There's a few web sites you can find with a Google search that will help you date these coins.

Next time you try to straighten anything made of copper or brass, put the items in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes. Remove from water with tongs, very quickly before they cool and see if they are soft enough to straighten.......nge
