I never took these pictures got them from a Missouri old building group on Facebook but I have been here several times as I did live less than 20 miles from it .

Old covered bridges are quite interesting Bearharold, especially if you can walk through them . About 20 miles from me there is one that is the oldest one in California, if not the Western US. I have not been to it yet, but I do plan on visiting it this winter.

I have actually seen and walked over one of those bridges about 10 years ago when i was visiting some friends,i cannot remember the actual location of it though,was not aware that they are rare to find.

Out of interest as they are bridges why have none of them in the pictures got any water underneath them ???

I can't speak about the other covered Bridges in Missouri but I believe the reason there is no water under the locust creek bridge is because the Creek has moved or been straighten . I have fished at that Creek not far from the bridge several times in my life and when its dry weather the water is shallow but when its storming or raining hard its deep and full of water ..
