Cust. service for the US

I'm trying to decide on the big two (E-trac/V3i) for my main machine. I hear good things about the E-trac but am concerned as to the service and potential need of service on these units. Nothing would frustrate me more than spending top dollar for a unit and having it at the shop forever. I don't hear of too many of these machines malfunctioning but would greatly appreciate any input on this. Is there a service center in the US yet? How many have had any issues with the E-trac that required service?

Thanks

I have had mine for 4 or 5 months and have had no problems. -- Randy

Yes they have a US based service center . From what I've read turn time is about a month for warrenty work .

Had mine almost 2 years (and I abuse the daylights out of it) and no issues at all at present.

I've had mine for 9 months and haven't had any issues.

I have 3 Minelabs and the only problem I have had was a power issue with my Excall and they took care of the problem. My son has had his V3i to Sweet Home OR. 3 times in less than 15 mos. and just got a coil we bought for him Christmas back friday. In my opinion White's should have given him a new machine with the problems he has had in such a short period of time. People say all machines have some problems. Good luck with your choice. I've had my Etrac since last June and have always thought there was something wrong with it because of it being so erratic at times.Well it finally got so bad I sent it in for repair the middle of March, got it back in 25 days.
It needed a new computer board, key pad and lower clamp. It seems to be working just fine now.The repair center is in Downers Grove, IL.

That's good to hear there is a service center in IL. I'm in MI so that's a plus. I've not heard of any real issues with the Etrac. But as usual, it's good to hear from actual owners about their machines. Thanks everyone!

I've had mine for 15 months and had to return for control box problem and stock coil problem but I use the machine most days
