CZ-21 headphone replacing

Has any users of the CZ-21 ever replaced their original headphones with the detector pro underwater headphones? My 21 is out of warranty so no problems there.Any tricks, dos or donts. Not sure of the compatibility of the phones. Thanks for any input, Steve

Why are you changing them? What advantages are you looking for...I'm changing out my Fisher CZ's but just to a different shell/headset

Hi There, dont much care for the tone of sound that comes from the originals and also not happy with the quality of the cord.It is stretched out to where it is too long.In the waterproof Gray Ghosts I think you have a much better superior quality sound and a better build quality on everything else. But if it is not compatible with the CZ-21 I would be open to replacing the shell. Would this be done in a similar way that you did on your video? And I thought by the way that it was very informative. Thanks, Steve

Good point on all, I guess I never use my CZ enough to really notice those things. Hopefully when I retire I can put more time into it.

On the compatibility have you though about giving them a call on that, excellent customer service...800-367-1995 let us know what you find out. I did see that CJC had a set of the Gold-masters on his CZ20, you might want to check it out.

As far as the Headphone Mode Video, Basically all of the water proof head phones are the same, you just have to adjust where needed. I do plan on doing both my CZ's one with the stock insides, and another with the custom sets, similar to the Gold-masters..one of the biggest things I have found so far is....the base plate that the transducer sets on, what it is made of really makes a difference in how the audio sounds.

I would give Gary a call on the GG....Good Luck....joe
