Deep coin settings for 13x17" coil.???

I have had the 13x17" coil for my CTX for a year now. I did not use it a lot last year. Maybe close to 20 hours. I also have a 13" Ultimate for my Etrac which I have had for 3 years. I have a couple of 'secret' places that I had a good amount of deep finds with the Ultimate coil. I can honestly say I have not found any more coins in those couple of places with the 13x17" coil. I am sure the 13x17" coil is OK because I do find deep coins with it in other places. It just doesn't beat the 13" Ultimate. I run auto +3 and it registers 27-28, Ferrous Coin and Combined with an open screen. So my ground is fairly mild. What would be some opinions on getting possible deeper coins with this situation. Hopefully I can get back out by the end of March when the snow starts to leave.

You don't need to change anything, just put it on and hunt. I get about 2 - 3 inches deeper with my 17" compared to the stock coil, same settings for both. I know this for a fact (for me) because I heavily scoured a hot spot in a ghost town I hunt. In a place where I pulled many silvers with the pro, the deepest was a quarter at 9 inches. After not being able to get any more signals I switched to the 17" and re-hunted the same spot and found a quarter at 12" and a dime at 11".

I'm so glad I don't find coins past 8". I don't have to dig such a deep hole. :lmfao:

I was at a schoolyard last year where I got very tired of digging coins at 9 inches or so in dry ground. I wasn't very good pinpointing the 17"er back then and my wrist stayed sore from all the digging. I finally took my relic shovel to the school (something I had never done before or have done since) and finished the field. I figured if I got run off, so be it, but I couldn't take any more of that wrist torture.

There is a dark side to lots of depth.

(no one get upset. my refilled holes were all but undetectable. I am a very careful replugger)
