Define “unmasking”

Charles you may find with the Nox that position of the target really matters compared to the CTX. It seems to be a little more picky in this area. Disc and near digits have always been an issue just because it degrades the response of non-ferrous targets more than ferrous ones within a few digits up or down the scale. Also with the Nox it seems if you disc out the iron digits...... those tones still creep into the lower ones..... open up AM .... reduce the volume and the tone seem to fall where they belong. Turn you threshold to 0 and the iron tone can sound a bit like a soft threshold that you can use to adjust your sensitivity in the water. Ive also found ..... the Nox likes to loose targets in the hole more so than the Xcal or CTX.

I'm used to running AM my brain ignores low iron tones it pays them no attention. Typical Minelab it hates that air gap in the hole. I'm seriously thinking of modding my Se Pro into just an X1 probe belt mount unit. I purchased the Nox primarily for beach hunting when I move back east next spring/summer. But I'll do some testing here in the Oregon/Washington area, our nasty volcanic soil will be a torture test for the machine. The Se Pro really struggles to punch through this nasty soil and get any depth.

Well, you don't unmask the Ol Lone Ranger and you don't mess around with Jim, simple.
