Depth and the Safari...............

Elton

New member
How close is the Safari to an E-trac in depth. ??? Or isn't it even close at all ?........

The FBS technology is the same as in the Explorer and E-Trac as described in Andy's new book. That being said there is much more target information that help the user determine a targets ID with the Explorer and the E-Trac. If you have used the Safari much at all you have come across some very deep targets. More friends of mine have E-Tracs than any other machines so if I ever feel slighted in the depth department I too will own an E-Trac. You can also get more information on this subject on the Minelab website.HH :minelab:

I have only used it a little bit.Less than two hours hersey....... I just wondered about the depth..Is auto sens better or manual sems ??

Depth will be the same have owned 2 Etracs and compared them in test garden and out in the field..I sold the Etracs cause for my style of hunting I just did not need them and I made a nice profit. They have a lot of extra features that I liked the Backlight,Auto increase on sensitivity,Pinpoint Disc adjustment with a lot more pixels.Everyone is raving about 2tone ferrous me myself ,as far as that is concerned it would be easier to find a place better to hunt. All of this you really do not need the Safari will do except 2 tone ferrous it will do multitone ferrous and as you raise your disc you can limit the tones it generates. You need to purchase Andy's book will help you a lot on the Safari.Use the Safari for about a year it will be a lot easier to jump to Etrac if you want.I know people that have bought Minelabs and sold them to me in just a few months did not like them it is a personal preferance.Look at AT Pro forum look at all the Minelab users buying the AT Pro the minelabs will go 2 inches deeper but everyone is looking for the next best. You have a top of line detector the 3 greatest secret,s to finding the best coins and jewelrey is ,New spot,New location,Unhunted location.

Auto Sens tends to over compensate and lower the sens too low, in my opinion. Don't know about the E-trac, but, the Safari is equal to the Explorer SE as far as depth goes, that is something I know for sure.
