Did it Again, 3 weeks in a row...ANOTHER silver half!!!

well went hunting today at another farm I got from my craigslist ad, it was super hot, super humid, but glad I went out. I scored my third silver half 3 weeks in a row! Got 6 wheats, bunch of clad and some odds and ends. I gave the owner some of the wheats. But I kept these 3, they are the 1st HOLED wheats I have ever dug. All 3 were in one hole. Why would someone go to the trouble to hole a wheat??

6-26-11 I dug a 1895-O barber half

7-03-11 I dug my 1st ever Kennedy half

7-09-11 I dug my 2nd Franklin half of the year

3 weekends, 3 silver halves, can't beat that!

Hi G4E

I bet you had great fun pulling up that old silver
Its in fine condition too
Congrats

I have heard of people drilling old copper coins to use as washers and using them for target practise but those holes are near the rim so are more puzzling

Beautiful Franklin, congratulations! It sure is a kick to pull silver halfs (or any half dollar for that matter) out of the ground...always an unexpected pleasure.

I've found a couple of star punched Memorials before, but those are the first holed Wheats I've ever seen.

Looks like you had another good hunt. Thanks for posting.
