Didn't know the T2 would ID in All Metal

This Pontiac Park has been worked at least a dozen times this season and still will produce a silver coin. The weather today is cold about 39 degrees and a light breeze.Fourth time out with the T2 and have found a total of 9 wheat's its time to hit on a silver coin.My goal learn to use the T2 and have a pleasant search. The T2 was set in all metal and the sensitivity set at 78.Medium sweep and watch the Screen for any targets around 58 or over 82.My first coin was a nickle a lock on at 58 a shallow target.Really liked using the T2 in all metal.Lot of targets at 79-80 which ended up being screw caps.First time using a pin-pointer with the T2 the Garrett Pro pin-pointer made target recovery easier and quicker. The first dime was a faint target reading 83-84 was surprised when the 1953d Roosevelt silver dime was recovered.Another target 82-83 was a deep 1963 Lincoln penny with green patina. The best find of the day a faint signal that read 84-90 hit the pinpoint button and displayed a 9.I cut a deep plug and cut a second layer of dirt that exposed two silver dimes laying side by side which had been stuck together.I took the pin pointer and rechecked the hole but nothing another check in the dirt on top revealed another silver dime.Three dimes from one hole two 1946 plains and a 1952d.At this point I'm very pleased with the performance of the T2.

Yes, the T2, like other Teknetics models, can sure surprise the user with very good performance, ample control functions and versatility, decent depth and all of that in a light and well-balanced package.

It's nice to have the VDI and TID read-out in the All Metal mode and there I times I like hunting that way as well as in the Disc. mode. A few questions, if you don't mind:

I presume you did all the hunting using the stock 11" BiAxial coil?

Was all of the hunt done in All Metal?

Did you switch to the Discriminate mode to check the located target before recovery?

(When I am in the Disc. mode with the T2 I prefer to hunt in either the 2+ or the 1+ Audio Tone ID function as I like the more modulated response on the deeper targets.)

Was '78' Sensitivity the highest you could run for that area, or just a comfortable setting that worked for you there?

It was not quite as chilly here today, almost, but not quite. It was, however, wet and that's not my favorite hunting condition. I hope we can both get a bit more hunting time in and I know you're bound to have some colder, more wintry weather than I will here. Best of luck when you get out again.

Monte,I used the stock 11" coil and was pleased with target separation.I started the search in all metal to see just how well the T2 would work in this mode to cherry pick silver and nickles.I was very surprised how well these faint targets could be identified I stayed in this mode the entire time.Today the discriminate mode wasn't used. After a target was of interest I would pull the trigger to get a depth reading and dig. The sensitivity I set at 78 and was stable. The ground conditions in this park heavy thick sod with black dirt underneath.I think the sensitivity could have been set a lot higher.Looking forward to the trip to WV to meet my brother from VA to search one of our favorite old parks.Yea, I'm not looking forward to winter.I'll probably be able to metal detect until the first snow storm. Thanks Ron

I searched in all metal at the general area where the silver dimes were found.I found 5 deep wheat's the oldest 1935.The clad dime was 1965 close but no cigar.Trying to figure rhyme and reason with the bounce on the ID.Fooled by crown caps I haven't figured the trick yet.Not complaining, just trying to figure out the T2.Later Ron
