Does Anyone Have Hearing Problems

Do any of you have ringing, hissing, etc in your ears. If so what do you
do about it or what do you use to stop it..
Unfortunately I do. I have hearing deficit. I have 30% in my left ear and 60% in my right. I need hearing aids and the ones I've been told that I need with at least 13 programmable channels runs about 5 thousand dollars, so naturally, I'm dragging my feet. I don't really want them....especially after what I was told by the Dr. on top of this.

Good luck with those, I hope they work.
For two years I tried Lipo Flavaniod (spelling), they claim that some folks will get relief from ringing in the ears. They also will reimburse you if you send in the UPC codes and receipts - I stopped this because it didn’t help me.
I tried this as well with no results.

Hearing aid sellers charge outrageous prices. I was recently told that i might get by with a 4 thousand dollar set but most likely six thousnd dollars. Some are eight thousand and higher depending on who you get them from Some folks have good luck with the Va and some do not.

Va told a friend of mine that h lacked a small percentage of being bad enough to quslify Come see us in an year or t3wo. He was quoted eight thousand by a well known company.

I Wear hearing aids and they make a real difference for me. My wife also appreciates the fact that i can hear. I Have profound hearing loss.

Same as longhair and others, ringing is so loud I cannot understand why others cannot hear it while standing near me. along with my hearing loss, the VA gave me hearing aids, but if I wear them it only amplifies echos, impossible to hear conversations in restaurants, as you hear what everyone is saying at every table, if a baby cry's 20 feet away the sound is like someone shoving a knife in your head. I seldom wear them now, silence is golden, most of the time I have no idea what the wife says , life is great.

Yes this would be nice to hear what you think of it, for me I believe I may have tried this and notice no difference. They claim that it restore your hearing or something like that as mine is just hard of hearing with a 110% gone in lot of the tones with the best I have is no more than 40% of the other tones. 100% is total deafness and why many of the new phone I do not hear as they are high pitch. The phone I do have has a lower tone pitch and it is loud when it rings, but the volume of the phone is hard to hear, My cell phone I have to use the speaker phone option .
Many detectors signals is too quick for me to hear and why I like my Sovereigns so much as they have a threshold and listen to the tone to change. either null or a good tone.
Now if your problem is the ringing in your ears maybe this stuff will work and why it didnt do anything for me. Without my severe/prolong hearing aid I would be lost. Been thinking on a coacular implant as was told this be my only option, but new stuff in hearing aids have changed for the better and maybe this will be for me. Got to talk to my Audiologist and see if something is new.
My problem is what is called nerve damage which is the hair in my inner ear are gone or close to be gone that transfer the sounds that we hear.
Good luck and let us know if this helps your hearing.

Rick
When prospecting the threshold usually gives me a migraine. While detecting in parks 50-60 tones is so annoying, it is like listening to gibberish on some star wars movie, anything more than 3 tones my brain cannot distinguish the difference, my ringing is for the most part a very high pitch.

What?

Mine sound like an orchestra of crickets 🦗. Like BigTony mentions, I feel there is a connection with neck / spine. I notice when I stay away from sugar / caffeine, then exercise and get a good “solid” nights sleep, the ringing is much less severe.
I wearing hearing aids and this helps drown out the ringing but not completely. Funny thing, since having lost much of my high pitch hearing, I can now hear mid and lower frequencies better than people who have no hearing loss at all.
Exactly, it's funny when I here something outside like a door close and the kids and grandkids say something like 'wow, you got great hearing' 😄

I tend to focus on the threshold and tones so much that I almost don't notice how loud the whine is. It's something that I've learned to tune out, about like the yammering of the now ex-wife. I'm sure that I have the volume turned up higher than a normal person, but it works for me.

My wife had a bad problem with ringing in her right ear driving her nuts. Went to an ear nose throat specialist he couldn't figure any thing out so he said you need to get an mri and she had a tumor that grows off the brain cap and onto the nerves that go to the ear. Went to a specialized surgeon and he removed it all is good been 5 years. . Both my ears ring I just tune it out.

I have ringing in my left ear many times during the day . . Also . . . When I tense up my neck muscles, the ringing is in the center of my head . . relax, it goes away and back to left ear. I bought 2 hearing aids at a friggen high price after they tested me. I wore them for a few days on and off . .. made visits back for adjustments several times. I don't like them, I hear everything. Dishes clanging, grandkids screaming, mice farting, dogs nails on the wood floor. . . . too much.
They are sitting in the case . . . .I like my quiet world.

This sort of reminds you of the old Rodney Dangerfield joke when he said the Dr. have him 12 months to live. Rodney then told the Dr. that there's no way in this world that he could have his Dr. bills paid in full in 12 months. The Dr. Then gave him 3 years.

What!!!?

I just got my hearing behind the ears aid changed and what a difference it makes for me. These new ones is smaller than the ones I have been using and these are Bluetooth so when I have a phone call on my cell phone they go directly into my aids.
Never could hear my phone ring so I used the vibrating feature, but now can hear it ring through my aids. I also notice if on face book all the sounds now come though the aid also. If my phone is another room the aids will pick it up when I am over 50 feet from it.
My hearing is one of the worst he has seen and didnt know how these would work for sure so I got them for 45 days to try or send back, I plan on keeping them as it has 3 differnt situation I can bring up on my apple smartphone for the place I am at. I want to check out if these will work with my detectors that has bluetooth for the wireless headphone . From what I understand this cost about $3200 for the pair which is a lot less then the prices some are quoting and feel some dealer are overpricing them.
Myself these have made a difference from what I have used for the last 50 year using hearing aids.

Rick, I’m glad you found something that works for you. It appears you have found a great pair of hearing aids. What brand / model hearing aids are they?

From what understand all hearing aid fitters can get any brands you want and not just the brands they sell, this was told to me from one of audiologist I talk to that was on the board of licensing for the fitters.
