Don’t make this (my) mistake with your new Minelab

On my EQX800 I completely filled the battery access area with RTV silicone. For ha-ha’s I sealed up the speaker grill and area around the coil connector too. I did the silicone in layers and left just enough space for it to fit correctly on the shaft. I’m using the green telescoping detecting innovations shat that was for my wife’s 600. No problems taking my 800 for a swim in Mexico this year. It’s been good unit since it was delivered in early 2018.

First thing - first hunt with Manticore was a salt water with the control pod emerge. Ran like a champ in the Gulf.

Regarding the ATPro’s I had used mine years ago in fresh water but was cautioned NOT to press the button buttons on the control head while it’s submerged. I still have that unit even though I haven’t used it in many years. It did find me a nice 14 K gold bracelet on a jumpy signal from iron to Midtone in an area where there wasn’t a single coin or pull tab signal.
