Dumb question here....

Here goes......got the e-trac a bit dirty on Sat, mud on my gloves went right on the foam grip and now its caked. Anyone have any ideas how to clean the foam handle grip without affecting the control housing? Does the foam come off somehow? I've looked and don't see an obvious way to get er done.

Thanks, Duane

I use an old hairbrush on mine, then rub it with a towel.
Hope it works for you.

Thanks man! Good idea, didnt just want to run it under the faucet.....well I did but I know that could be a disaster...LOL

Thanks

I use this gun tape, it's good, it does not leave any redsidue on the foam or any of your plastics you may want to cover over, later on when it wears through or gets really dirty you can just rub it over with a damp cloth or you can just peel it off and put some new stuff on, it does not leave any stickyness at all.

No-mar cloth Gun tape
Available in Realtree Hardwoods Green or Advantage Timber.
New cloth finish. No adhesive residues. Eliminates glare.

I also read about that foam handle, so when I got mine I wrapped it in seran wrap then taped it with grip tape (I don't think this is necessary) then finished with quite a bit of electrical tape. I've been very pleased with this and I've got close to 150 hrs. on the machine (at least 3 hunts like yours where I had quite a bit of mud and the like) and it wipes clean. So far has held up real well...best of all it doesn't cost too much!

Awesome man, thanks for the tip....Just what I needed.....Should I look for ther cloth version or the vinyl? I am looking for some right now

Thanks, Duane

i use a replacement tennis racquet grip, about $4.
it's awesome - feels great and easy to clean.

I wrapped some plastic cut from a garbage bag around the foam handle and wound black electrical tape around it.

"There's no such thing as a dumb question" Duane  -

I did the same thing as "NebTrac" ...
Seran Wrap and three or four times around with Electrical Tape - cost free - comfortable - easy to keep clean - and it looks pretty good !

Howdy! I use compressed air to clean my E-Trac after every hunt. I have a rubber tipped air gun that attaches to the air hose from my shop compressor. I blow all dirt, mud, and dust off the E-Trac first, then wipe it down with a micro-fiber cloth, and it works very well. I do keep the air gun at about 8-10" away from the control head, as to not damage the speaker. But the rest of the machine, you can get as close as you want and not damage it. It worked well on foam handle also. I have put a short Velcro ace bandage wrap around the handle on my E-Trac, more for comfort than for protection. It was one ,that one of my twin daughters had from high school volleyball. It works well for me and could also be taken off and washed if it gets too dirty, but so far the compressed air keeps it very clean. BSC
