I went to an old local town park about 10 days ago - before we got hit with the recent snow storms.
Being an turn of the Century park I was planning on passing over any penny hit's - so I'd have more time to look for old silver.
After an hour or so I only had one clad Quarter and one clad Dime so I decided to dig a solid ( 12 - 42 ) hit near the Tennis Court.
This target turned out to be a 1942 - one Franc coin from France - that's made out of Aluminum.
This coin is about the same size as a US Nickel.
Because of World War 2 there was a shortage of Copper - Bronze - Zinc, etc. - so some French coins were made of 100% Aluminum.
Even though it's a fairly uncommon find - I thought I'd pass the target ID numbers along.
