explorer user kicked my butt today at old fairground!

lol....I know, I just had to vent yesterday when I got home cause I was frustrated, now I read this I am laughing! I did try 2 tone ferrous and I dug every high tone, I got almost a roll of modern pennies, few dimes, nickels, and bunch of pull tabs. I just had bad luck. Guess every day can't be a Ray-Mo day

I have hunted with Ray several times,Like i have said before,Unless you hunt with an experienced person
you will never know you are missing coins.
There was a time i thought i was finding all the old coins that were there.
I was proved wrong.
Now i have a whole new concept on metal detecting.
It is called learning. And i appreciate everything Ray has done for me.
Had i not hunted with him,I would have never known what i was missing.
What Ray and the other experienced detectors have is years of experience.
And i bet every one of them has a test garden.
I still haven't gotten to the point of experience as the more capable detectors,
i don't expect to be there yet.But i listen, learn, and believe what they tell me.
Bryce once told me it will come in time, and i truly believe that.
But i am going to have to put in the time, and i do.
I don't just go out swinging as i use to,now i am a lot more curious as to what the detector is telling me.
I want to better be able to find more coins in trash,I use to avoid trash, now it is the places i hunt hardest.
I use to hate it that a lot of the places i went,it was a complete null, now i expect it a lot of times, and fight to
hunt it the best i can.
If i can pull one coin out of trashy areas,i feel satisfaction.
I feel like i am learning and that i did something right.
Just a wheat penny can make my day at an old site.especially if it is deep and in trash.
Don't take much to make me happy i guess.
But now i believe there are still a lot of old coins out there, and there out there because others aren't finding them.
These coins have been out there for a very long time, there waiting for someone to find them.
I want to be one of the ones capable of finding them.
So no every day can't be a Ray-Mo day,
Right now i don't expect it to be.
But some day it will be!

Sometimes you're the windshield. Sometimes you're the bug.

Having a "bad day" now and then only makes us realize that the act of metal detecting is an art, not a science. And a little luck don't hurt, either! :beers: Just keep swinging the coil and it will be different next time. HH Randy

Sorry to read this about you as I see some of your post and like to follow up with you. I am sure this is not what you have experianced but I was out for about a half hour before I realized my coil connection was loose. It sucked to be me right then. After I found this everythiing was fine...hope you find your catch.

good luck
