F75 11/14 upgrade. Is it true?

Is it true if you have the 11/14 upgrade (w the reported loss of dept in AM mode) that Fisher is offering to reprogram to the 12/14 free of charge?
Thanks

Rescue, elaborate on the mama pinpoint, I had the 12-14 and it sounded the same as before the upgrade is there a reason why you're calling a mama upgrade?

Shooter it's said that the 11/14 has a weird pinpoint sound. That being another reason the 12/14 is more wanted than the 11/14.

Question #2

Do any of the 12 /14 ser # Units have the Mama pin point?

The MaMa pin point is heard when you program the "Tone" Audio feature to 2L or 2H.
I asked that those who have the serial # 12-14 to verify if that was corrected in December.

One question in my mind is if there really are two software versions 11-14 and 12-14

The numbers in the machine are the serial numbers.

I think the 11-14 represents the month and year in the serial number - Nov 2014
Then the 12-14 would be the units made in Dec - 14

So a unit made in Jan would be 01-15 - Jan 2015.

Someone tagged these numbers as software revisions. I see no proof of this yet.

So one basic question I have does anyone with a 12-14 unit have the MaMa sound in pinpoint in the 2H and 2L tones.

If the answer is no then that is proof there was a software revision in December of 2014 changing the Tones and 11-14 units need to be returned for correction due to defect.

According to the conversation I had with Juan, I asked him about loss depth and he told me on the 11 – 14 there was a software problem which they corrected and being mine was 12 – 14 and would not be affected because they corrected now as far as the mama I didn't use those two tones yet before I send it back I used the "N" tone and didn't notice any mama affect. I agree with you with that serial number deal I don't know if it's a version or actual serial number I have to write it down with their serial number underneath control box are correct at think the battery box.

You know Fisher would grow Large in our eyes IF they had gumption(old GrandMother) word to just tell it like it is. This OSTRICH ACT is getting stale, however, there IS a Turkey act that they might want to pay some attention to.

REPOST

Well according to the tracking number, my f75 ltd se2 reached first texas on 1-7. On 1-8 i get a phone call from juan saying all 11-14-14's are being recalled(not his words but what I would gather) and mine was updated to the 12-14-14 and being sent back to me. I asked him if mine was fixed and he said you had the "mama bug" and that I was updated and should be fixed. I asked if I will have an increase in depth and he said bluntly , yes.

His actual words were "We are trying to get back in all 11-14's" and the way I understood it, the 11-14 was like a version number and mine was being upgraded to the 12-14. Weather permitting, I will post a a few outside tests, and an air test. I dont think that a unit made in 1-15 will have that 12-14 number changed unless the software was changed.

Good info---thanks for posting it.

Just got my replacement for my brand new 11/14 unit. It's a brand new 12/14 unit. No pinpoint bug.

So was this a free service from Fisher? Or did you pay?
Thanks

Is yours an upgrade and is so how is the depth?

Free as well. haven't been able to test much 9.1 is about the same as both modes before on depth, much less audio lag. 9.0 is definitely hotter than before. I actually get some chatter in disc and waver in threshold in all metal at my house and I didn't before. I'm guessing it will be bit deeper than before and the mode of my choice. So I guess that means DST is on 9.1 still instead of 9.0. But yeah, working fine.

Same for me.. Word for word..

They tried calling me yesterday but didn't leave a message. I work 3rd shift and am in eastern time. By the time they are opening their doors in El Paso, it is already past my normal bad time. I have been waiting for their call but they called about 3:00 p.m. my time and I was sawing logs by then. Hopefully they will get all this fixed and then people can start posting positive info about the upgrades. Most of us that were vocal about the problems have our machines at First Texas now or are awaiting the arrival of their new or repaired machines.

Hey basstracker..have you noticed any depth differences?i got my 11-14-14 the same time as you.if the pinpoint and the all metal were the only issues i can wait to send mine in.i hunt in disc with 3 tones.
