I hit the ole park this morning to see if I could find some more silver. It was threatening rain and I started the day off hunting in the sprinkles. I thought I'd try the same small area where I had recovered some other Mercury dimes. It didn't take long, I got a high tone with the numbers bouncing around funny, but in the dime range. I dug down and found a 1939 Mercury dime on edge. It pays to dig. I was detecting in the boost mode, 3H audio, discrimination 7 and the sensitivity was set at 87. Any higher on the sensitivity would give a funny faint feedback signal. Shortly after I found the Mercury dime the rain started coming down too hard to detect in, so I left do a choir on the other side of town. After I finished doing my choir it quit raining so I hit a nearby modern park to see if could rustle up a gold ring. No such luck, but before day was out I was in a t-shirt soaking up some wonderful sunshine.
