F75-SE :fisher: It Must Be A Pack Of Them

I hit the ole park this morning to see if I could find some more silver. It was threatening rain and I started the day off hunting in the sprinkles. I thought I'd try the same small area where I had recovered some other Mercury dimes. It didn't take long, I got a high tone with the numbers bouncing around funny, but in the dime range. I dug down and found a 1939 Mercury dime on edge. It pays to dig. I was detecting in the boost mode, 3H audio, discrimination 7 and the sensitivity was set at 87. Any higher on the sensitivity would give a funny faint feedback signal. Shortly after I found the Mercury dime the rain started coming down too hard to detect in, so I left do a choir on the other side of town. After I finished doing my choir it quit raining so I hit a nearby modern park to see if could rustle up a gold ring. No such luck, but before day was out I was in a t-shirt soaking up some wonderful sunshine. :)

tabman Have you tried using the De mode ......... in low grass areas... ????

Geez, you are getting as bad as me. 1 silver per outing. Nice find on the Merc. Year, at 87 that internal hum kicks in. HH jim tn

Yeah, but I get a better signal on deeper targets using the boost mode. Sometimes when I get a signal in the boost mode, I'll push the red button and throw it into 'DE' mode to see how the "DE' signal sounds compared to the boost mode. Some of the really good 'boost' mode signals would not sound good enough to dig in the 'DE' mode.

Thanks everyone. I just wasted a glorious beautiful day blowing and bagging leaves.

I'm really liking this F75-SE/ NEL Sharpshooter combo.

Nice Tabman. Depth looks to be in the 8" range.

Thanks. It's closer to 6 inches deep. The ProPointer is 9 inches long.

Tabman good score as always on silver.

I'm curious as to weather the NEL coil is less noisy overall, been asking on a couple different threads with no reply.
I really want to know, I'd like to get one of these coils, and I don't care about a tiny bit of extra depth, more important to me is if it is LESS NOISY, and since seeing you post you have "actually" used it I would like to hear what you have to say.

Thanks,
Rick

Rick mine is less noisy. It's a fun coil to use. It can get into tight places, it has good depth and it separates well, but it's still big enough to cover larger areas with no problem.

Don't be afraid to turn you sensitivity down. Especially in the boost mode. You won't lose any noticeable depth. I mainly hunt in the boost mode.:detecting:
