[/img] Started a new midway strip getting a long way from the old area mostly 50s wheat's and dimes . Did get one Indian at 7 inches deep but corroded . Found a button today , is this a eagle button don't dig many old buttons here anyway it was 6 inches deep. If anybody knows how old the button is I would appreciate it thanks . Most of the dimes were at 3 to 4 inches deep everyone had iron with them , probably why they still were here . Nice day to get out overcast and cool , hope you got out . sube

any markings on the back of the button? Can we get a clear picture of it? I'll check it out in my book.

love to see nice buttons

Great hunting!!

Sube - you are a machine. All I can say is WOW!!! You need to get a tally from that spot. Shooting for 200 silvers?? Good job as usual!

GKMan what I got on the back of the button was - - ANS + HASSALL I don't know what the first two letters are but the rest I'm pretty sure . As for a better pic can't do .Thanks sube

If GKMan has identified the back mark as civil war period. The face of your button is what we call a General Service button due to the shield in the eagles breast.
