I went down to Iowa to visit my brother Sam and tried some detecting in some city parks for a couple days.
The ground was kind of hard but that didn't stop me as I was happy just to get out of the snow we have here up north.
The city parks I hit have been pounded hard, so I had to have some patience and really listen for the fringe and partially masked signals. Temps were about 28-35 degrees.
Everything was found with my XP Deus 2 metal detector.
The find of the trip has to be that 1885 railroad baggage tag. It is neat that it has a year on it. I believe to be Pennsylvania Railroad
The old glass brooch is another unique find. I chased a 9-10 inch deep 76 signal on the Deus 2 and it paid off.
Maybe someone has some idea of that the scene on that brooch depicts as it is hard to interpret.
It was at least 9 inches deep and was found fairly close to a 1924 wheat penny.
Thanks for looking everyone!
