Field 2 and Park 1 experiment on the Equinox 900

I managed to get out yesterday for a 3 1/2 hunt. I was using my Equinox 900 in a bean field that I have hunted before. Iron bias at 2 and recovery speed at 4 and sensitivity between 22-25. Along the road where the power lines were I ran in Field 2 to reduce EMI and away from the lines I ran Park 1. I did find only 3 coins and tested them with the 2 different modes. Park 1 hit harder with a higher tone than field 2. I also noticed reduced chatter running in Park 1. There are lots of nails and bits of metal in this field and I think that when I hit this type of area again I will continue to change up modes. The coins recovered were a couple of green indian cents and a nice 1908 D barber dime. HH Ted

Your findings are the same as mine with the two modes.

I hit it again today for 2 hours and only a bullet and a piece of copper wire! Off tomorrow to another old school site!
Good luck Ted!

Thanks Jimmy!
If conditions allow, crank that sensitivity as high as possible. Hopefully you can detect deep down and reach some deeper coins.

Struck out at the old country school today but did find a neat bottle on the ground. Went to a ball diamond grabbed some clad and came home because of the wind...Maybe next time!
You made the attempt. Better luck on your next hunt.

I wasn't going out with 20-30 mph wind with wind chill factors in the 30s... :(
I wouldn’t be out there either

I enjoy hunting the ice in January and February on the shores of lake Erie.
Wool thermals, sweats then rain gear to break the wind. Wool glove liners inside those nice thick cloth lined rubber gloves used for working in ice water.
Found my best ring ever in the ice.
Guess it was just a matter of how bad I wanted it.😬
Winter storms throw everything upon shore and it freezes in place. A kind of rock pic works great.
Make sure you have safety glasses.
That's the only difficult part for me.
Glasses get covered and fogged up.
