Find from last week......

Another try at uploading pictures...........Went to a former racetrack now an alfalfa field. Only the second SLQ I have dug because I usually hunt earlier sites. Doesn't show too good in the picture, but it is a 1917-D.
This site has been hammered so few finds. Never gave a coin signal as it was standing straight up on edge at 8" with a piece of iron stuck against the back that left a big rusty spot. Also found but not shown as they were heavily corroded were two V nickels, a slick shield nickel & two Indians.(I know it was a true 8" because I uncovered the edge of the rim & used my pinpointer with inch marks to measure it before I took it from the hole.)
