Finds from the river today....

After a very short period of cool weather, It got hot and humid again, but the river cleared up and has dropped some, so I decided to give it a try again.
This is only my third trip this year as the water has been too high due to lots of rain.
I got a nice count of quarters along with a few lead weights and a small silver ring.
Also got a small token of some kind.
The other photo is of what appears to be a small stone, but it is light for its size and actually gave a TID of 1-2 on my XTP.
The shape of it seems like it was fashioned into this shape.
Any ideas welcome on this find.

Nice haul Felix! As we previously discussed, I truly believe that stone goes back to a time when Native Americans occupied the area.

Whatever it is made of, it must be porous…. It is still damp after sitting all night.
I even set it out in the sun yesterday after I got home.
So graphite will give a response to a metal detector?
The shape is intriguing to me..it fits comfortably in my hand and is almost perfectly circular along the length of it.
I was thinking maybe it is a hammer stone.

I can’t believe the weight of the lead sinkers for fishing in that river. I guess the fisherman want to make sure they drown their worm

I have found over 15-16 pounds of them so far.
The weight adds up quick when they are this big!!

I was thinking graphite too.
Dug many on Erie shores.
Sounds of real nice. Like silvers depending on size. Most of mine are oblong.
Though I've never seen it porous.
Nor still wet overnight.
Possibly some coal coak ?
