First Civil War button

A friend of mine rents an older home in the country, he's not sure the age of the house. I dug this button there, it showed a solid FE-C0 of 12-35. I'm pretty sure it's an officer's infantry button. I've found 3 indian heads, several wheaties, but no silver yet.

Not positive, but I think it's from the Union Army.
