First Time out with E-Trac

pilot

New member
Finally got a chance to give it a try this afternoon for an hour. Just ran it in the default coin mode with no changes except manual sens. Well it is a bit different, especially the added weight. I didn't find anything spectacular like some stories I have read but I did manage to find a few zinc pennies, a quarter which about blew my ears out and then a nice 1927 D Wheat. Hopefully I can get few more days in before the snow flies.

ok great to hear about your first time out if you havent got earphones with volume control PLEASE turn the volume down on tour etrac cos you will hurt your ears if you dont coin mode is just fine but me personally i woud stick to auto sensitivity perhaps plus 3 as it will be more stable at the moment keep low and listen for those tones

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HUNTING

Yes AUTO +3 sensitivity with GROUND set to DIFFICULT for North American soil (normal for when in sand) and TRASH HIGH according to Andy's book which I hope you got when you purchased your new E-Trac.

Good choice you will love it once you get used to it.

Thanks for the advice...I have the book...so many things to try out! Going to download the emulator to get used to the controls and sounds.

JUST a footnote i have seen a video that proves that having ground on normal the etrac has been seen to ignore large silver so i keep my etrac on the setting ground difficult all the time

Congrat's on the finds and good luck with your new machine !
