Fisher Cz5

My CZ-5 Still beats my Manticore and Deus 2 finding silver coins hands down. Manticore loves rusty nails more than the CZ-5 does. Deus 2 hates EMI and is chattery all the time around local parks..... Set discrimination to 0 with the CZ-5 and will cut down on the rusty nail digs by 90% as you will hear the grunt of the iron.

Yes , the fisher cz series is a deep silver finder. I still have a 6,7,70 and they work well. almost totally immune to EMI. Lots of people have them a bad wrap saying they liked deep iron , I never had that problem, but i would consider myself an expert on Czs with 20plus years experience , i rarely ever dug deep rusty iron. You can easily trace the target in the pinpoint mode. Coins would be very short blips in pinpoint mode . So I would work the target, if you had two pinpoint reports it was usually a good target next to a trash target. The Cz audio is very discriptive. smooth for good targets.

I've got a CZ5 that I bought over 20 years ago, new, from a dealer on Old King's Road in Jacksonville, FL. About 2 months after I bought it I had bypass surgery. It took me a long time to get back to coin-hunting. That detector probably has less than 75 hours hunting time on it. Prior to buying the CZ, I had (and still have) a Fisher 1260x. It was my first expensive, to me, anyway, detector but I found 1000s of coins, rings, interesting objects, and a ton of pull tabs.

I notice that most of the posts on this forum are over a year old, so it may be that no one sees it for a while. I've been coin hunting since the middle 70s but not so much in the last few years. But I'm 83 years old and I'm looking forward to getting back out there.

Hello Bmix , the cz5 is still a very good detector. Most people have moved on to newer, lighter detectors. I will always have a Cz . I have made many great finds over the years with Czs. Hope I am still detecting at 83. If you have any questions, just ask , I love talking detecting especially about CZs.
