Broke out the winter hunting gear - put new batteries in the flashlights and ground a real sharp point on the Lesche digger to help cut through the frozen ground.
Here's a few finds from the last few hunts in the snow.
Found the 1919 Mercury dime and the old buckle in a field next to a town park - got nice clear target ID numbers on the buckle with my 10 x 12 S.E.F. coil - it was down a solid 12" to 13".
Found the 1898 Indian cent - the old cuff link and the Roger's silver plated spoon in the woods where an 1800's Church was located. The church was torn down in the 1920's.
Found the 1956 Wheat Cent, old toy cap pistol, Lieutenant's uniform bar and the button at an old abandoned house.
The pistol was intact but very corroded - cleaned it in the Electrolysis bath - this cleaning helped a lot but it still looked bad - ended up spraying it with some black paint.
Internet research tells me that this toy pistol is from the 1950's era and the Lieutenant's uniform bar is the style used during World War 2.
