Found An Old Token Last Night

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
Hunted another old - late 1800's house last night and I found this Token down about 5" on the front lawn - came in as a FE 10/12 - CO 46/47.
This Token measures 1 3/8" in diameter, has a lot of embossing on it and is in real nice condition.

I checked into the company history and the Polmolive Company merged with the Peet Company in 1926. Then the Polmolive - Peet Company merged with the Colgate Company in 1928.
After all the mergers - the companies new name became the Colgate - Polmolive - Peet Company. Today we just call it Colgate - Polmolive. Sure glad I don't have to type that again !
So ... this means that this Token was made in 1926 - 1927 or possibly early 1928.

Very nice Mark, I found the same token but mine was not in that good of shape. Thanks for the good pictures and congrats on the token, they are really fun to find. -- Randy

I've found that same token 3 or 4 times and every one was toast, that's a nice find.

WOW! That baby is in great shape. What is it made of? Did you clean it? if so, what method did you use? Very Cool.

Looks like this Token is made of Bronze - a Copper & Brass mix - it is actually more of a redish copper color then it appears in the photo's.
Cleaned it in an Electrolysis Bath for approx. 5 min. and then rubbed it real easy with some very fine steel wool.

Nice token. Congrats love finding tokens!

Nice Token! Congratulations!
