Found it Loaded!!

Found this old gun in the back yard of an old home site. It was about 15 inches deep. Gave me a strong 45-46-47 signal. Looks like a 22 cal, if you notice there is a bullet still in the cylinder. Feel like someone buried this treasure????

Son of a GUN!!! That's quite a find. To have it ring up like that buffalos me though. Thanks for the pictures and the story Bill!!

Good Job Bill , I think the Finger Prints are gone, Mickfin

Thats sure a different find !

Neat Find, odd it still had live rounds in it.

I gunsmithed for close to 10 years. Never did work on a revolver like that though. It's definitely 1900's, probably 30's to 40's, due to the mainspring being a coil type spring instead of a flat one. I just can't remember one where the cylinder swivel or crane was on the right side. Looks to be a double action revolver too.

If you were in your back yard blowing off a few rounds, you sure wouldn't leave your loaded weapon just lying on the ground, would you? Someone buried this gun on purpose....Why would anyone bury a loaded gun other than because it was a murder weapon that they were trying to hide??:yikes: You should do some historical research as to how old the gun is and who lived in the house at the time it was buried. Then check the newspapers at the time and see if you can't link a murder or robbery to the gun.

and then sell your house before the information goes public
