Found These Coins & Medallion Last Week

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
Been real busy around work the last two months - I was called back to my old job 8 weeks ago ( working midnight's ) - also been doing some of my own logging jobs and working here on the farm - needless to say - I don't get out to hunt as much I would like to. With time being so limited - I've been trying to hunt sites that have produced some good old finds in the past - swinging low and very slow - hunting the same areas - coming in from different angles and listening for the deeper chirps. This style of hunting seems to really pay off with the E-Trac !

Found the Kennedy Half during short hunt along a section of old sidewalk. It's the 8th Half Dollar I've found in two years - ( two Walking Liberty's and six Kennedy's so far) - now I just need to be lucky enough to find a Barber Half and a Franklin Half - then put them all together - that sure would make a great looking display !

Found the 1906 Indian and the 1952 Rosie Dime in the front yard of an old abandoned house - got a bouncy signal on the Indian Cent but it kept coming back into the good range - dug this IHC in hard dirt - at a measured 9" - pretty impressive because I was using my 6" Excellerator Coil !

The Religious Medallion was 5" to 6" down along the walkway of a 1800's house that was just torn down. This medallion came in as a solid FE -(12 )- CO (46/47) - because of the depth I thought it was going to be large silver or a large cent - oh well ... still a pretty good find. Even though it's made of Aluminum - I think it's pretty old.

The 1941 Mercury Dime - 1937 Buffalo Nickel and the 1943 Silver War Nickel were found on the lawn of an old school. Both of the Nickel's are in real nice condition - you don't find Buffalo's with a date this clear very often !

The Wheat Cents were found at all of these locations.

All of these sites were loaded with iron - almost all of the targets were deep - and as always ... I was running in Two Tone Ferrous.

Good hunting to all ! --- Mark

ive never seen a buffalo come out that nice. i know what you mean about time. i was debating upgrading to the etrac (and before that, the SE) for a couple years. i never did because i figured i dont do it enough and i dont have the time. i love the etrac so much i make the time, instead of finding the time, but its still very tough. just too much work and things to do. at leat we can detect vicariously through each others stories and pictures.:beers:

Congratulations on the finds Mark! Thanks for the story and the great pictures.
