Found This Medallion Last Night

[E-Trac-Ohio]

I hunted the back of an old park last night - still about 4" of snow and ice on the ground but the grass was showing through a litte in some areas. Got a FE 7 - CO 47 hit - then bounced all over then back to FE 7 - CO 47 again signal. It turned out to be this "Medallion" or promotional piece from the White's Sewing Machine Co. Cleveland, Ohio. This `company moved from Massachusetts to Cleveland, Ohio in 1866.There's a small hole drilled near the top - anyone ever seen one of these ? What do you think it is ?
Also found this 1917 Wheat Cent at the same location.

I don't know anything about the Medallion except it is cool. I enjoy finding tokens and medallions as much or more than finding coins, thanks for sharing your hunt and photos.

I believe that this Token / Medallion is made out of Aluminium or a very similar type metal.

Well actually I have and it has a hole too! Mine looks and sorta feels like aluminum. Congrats on the find...

Nice find. I love medallions and tokens as well..I live in central Utah where it is still frozen about 18 inches. but with alot of work and a pick..have recovered a few coins..minus 25 at night last week so i have awhile before i can hit it hard..good luck
