Hi all, Yesterday I gained permission to hunt this house built in 1913. There was a late 1800's house on this home site that burned down and then this house was built. the current owner(awesome lady) has owned this house for a little over 50 years and said it has never been detected. I hunted it today for about 3 hours and all I found was a ton of clad and alot of wheats? Also alot of trash close to house, TTF on that part when I go back. Still can not figure why I did not even find one indian? It is a very big yard and alot of hunting left. Thanks all and HH.

Some sites look fantastic but turn out not to be
and visa versa
It keeps it interesting
Good Luck on the second hunt :)

Who knows, the ground could have been disturbed. Maybe the family that lived there didn't have alot of silver lining their pockets. Check for older outbuilding remnants, potential walkways to and from those old buildings. Also, I would hit around the big older trees and the shady side of the house where those late afternoon picnics where, I don't see any hills in the pics for a potential sleigh riding pocket spill but I would try out that gravel driveway leading from that old looking barn, I also have had alot of luck on the sides of those little streams (the kind that you can step over) that kids loved to play in or around. Alot of times remembering MD101 practices like this helps me out, other times it is bewildering where all of the old coins went.

PS I might run a couple silvers coin under the coil just to refresh what they sound and read like if it has been a while since the last one found.
Good Luck!

I had ran into places like that only to find out that they had had the place leveled with a dozer at some point.
Keep looking, there should be a few keepers.

Quite often it seems to me the really beautiful older homes do not give up as much as some that don't seem to be as fancy. I came to the conclusion that may be because the owners over the years did a lot of work around the house and have moved much of the soil. Now that is just an assumption but it seems to hold true for me.

Yeah, I agree. Have had several great looking sites not produce a single silver. I think the soil of many older houses have been graded or updated in the last 20 - 30 yrs , when the common folk started caring about estetics of their property. Before then, people seemed to be forcused more on their livelyhoods. HH Mike

I have found that on similar sites, running sensitivity as high as it allows and digging all that might spark interest is the key to a productive and fun hunt. Good luck with this sight, and don't let any signal that barks go un-dug.,
