Getting great press: Artifact Detecting Team:thumbup:

The Artifact Detecting Team's "pay-to-hunt" program - created to help save our countries Revolutionary War era historic structures is gaining some great local press: please see the latest front page article in the Southampton Times which appeared this past Thursday, July 1 www.artifactdetectingteam_Latest Press

This program will be instrumental in helping to turn around the widespread negative perceptions that exist by many people (especially historical groups, archaeologists and land preservationists) about our awesome hobby. We are already receiving offers for the granting of access, for our members, to significant properties within the area as word has spread amongst the wealthy land owners.

We are currently negotiating with the property developer of one of the most storied and significant parcels of land within Southampton, NY, www.oldetownesouthampton.com for access to his property before development occurs and the potential for finding artifacts on the property is lost forever.

I have been receiving inquiries from other interested detectorists that would like to replicate this program with their own local historical societies. I am available to help dedicated persons put this same program together, under the Artifact Detecting Team banner, on a local basis - as the local detectorists will be controlling all aspects of site selection and event management with their local not-for-profit group - the group will receive all of the hunt fees for their properties directly.

The Artifact Detecting Team website will hopefully become a clearing house for all interested persons to get information and be able to sign-up for not for profit pay-to-detect opportunities at significant historical and exclusive properties across the USA.

Sound like a good idea tom. that is no different than our Digging in Virginia that is put on twice a year with 3 days of Fun & Finds. Good Luck. HH...Jesse.

Hmmm,I have tried that two different places here close to home.
with the understanding that all recovered items would go to the historical society there.
People do not want you on there land, which i don't understand unless they wanted to keep it for themselves.
One place was a ghost town that was burnt during the civil war, another a civil war encampment area.
