Getting Ultimate Gray Ghost's For My E-Trac

[E-Trac-Ohio]

My family asked me what I wanted for Christmas this week.
I told them that I've been using an inexpensive pair of Chinese headphones with my E-Trac for the last three months.
I went on to explain to them that this would about the same as buying a new Corvette and ordering it with bald tires so you can save a few bucks !

They really seemed to feel sorry for me and said what kind headphones do you want to go with your Corvette Metal Detector ?
I told them that after reading many posts in this forum and a lot of other headphone reviews - that a set of Ultimate Gray Ghost's would be perfect !

I've never used high end Headphones before - can't wait to see how good they are !

I don't won't to hi-jack your thread, but I have ratphones and was wondering if the UGG's would be a side step or a step up in sound? That cold is creeping down here in Ma too. The woods is still soft though. It is noon local time and warmed up a bit...I am headed out.

Hi Dan, I heard a lot of good things about Ratphones - I'm not sure if there's a big difference in sound quality between them and the Ulitmate Gray Ghosts or not ?
I'm not really qualified to answer that question - I've never used Ratphones and I've only been detecting for 5 months.
I'm sure there's a lot of guy's in this forum that own both types and could give you their opinion.
After reading as much as possible on the subject.- I just decided to go for the Ultimate Gray Ghost's.
I also know that a lot of people prefer other brands as well - like the Killer Bee's - Killer Bee / Wasps, etc.

I've got Gray Ghost headphones. They work great with my E-trac. I think you'll be happy with them.

i like my GGUs; my only issue is that i have to turn them up ALL THE WAY to listen at a comfortable level

I had RatPhones and I sold both pairs. The Grey Ghosts work much better for me with the Minelab machines.

Nick A, that is interesting. One of the reasons I asked the question was with the speaker on the Etrac the High tones seem more flute-ty than my RatPhones. So I was wondering if certain Headphones compliment certain detectors. My RatPhones are a little beat-up so when I replace I think I will go with the UGG. Just out of curiosity, were you using your RatPhones with other detectors and did you like them better with those?
