had a club hunt at an old, but still in use, fairgrounds today --- some of the 5,000 bike riders camped at this fairgrounds a few weeks ago, so we figured we would find some clad, etc. --- well, the ground up here in NE Iowa has dried up something terrible and is now rock hard, plus was about 91 degrees today --- long story short, was working my way back to the car for a short club meeting and was swinging the coil over some rock hard ground where the vehicles have worn all the grass off and got a stong quarter signal that showed about 1 inch in depth --- I even pinpointed it with my Garrett Pro-Pointer --- figured it was another recently lost clad quarter, so I took out the digger and pryed like crazy to get the bugger out of the cement like ground mixed with a little rock and out pops this little puppy --- right along with a great big gouge!!! Moral to the story --- always use caution while digging, because you never know what's going to pop out of the ground.
