gold coin found august 2007

found this five dollar gold coin at a side walk construction site last year...in pretty good shape ..I'm not sure if the excavator nicked the edge or me but it was in the dirt pile the took out about 4inches not sure how deep it was before they excavated it tho

Hey Locust,

Fantastic find Gary......I'm a BIG fan of construction zones, but I have yet to find my first gold coin.

I woke up to 10 inches of new snow this morning and I'm sure you have about the same, if not more. It looks like it will be a while before we get back out. :thumbdown:
 
thanks guys...yea believe it or not i still ain't over the excitement of seeing it roll down the hill to land at my foot and i even still laugh at myself because when i seen what i had i took off running for my truck and discovered about half way home i had left my leche digger on the dirt pile:blink: had to drive back for it luckily it was still there

What part of the country are you from? (Still trying to figure who's from where on here.)

I used to visit Charleston a lot until my GF moved to WI (after a stopover in Collinsville). Pretty country for flatland. :)

Sounds like what I would have done, cept I would have stepped on my detector and broke it on the way to the truck!!
