Good News and Bad News

I am new to the E-Trac. I detected an 1850's house that I saw a guy hunting with a Garrett several years back, I went first with the SE and Sun Ray 12 in coil. I got 2 Wheats and one Indian. I went back with the E-Trac and got a large broach at 10 inches,1 Rosie, 3 Mercs, 1 Indian, 9 Wheats and a clump of 3 tokens fused at one end. That is the good news. The ground at this house is quite hot and I was only able to get at most 19 on auto Sens.
Yesterday, I hunted a 1803 Park in a little town that is almost non existent. I was digging everything that I could get any kind of a repeat signal, because I know this park has been pounded for years. Got a really crappy EEETHUMP NULL signal showing at 10 inches. The tone was high, close to silver so I decided to dig. The target was in the plug so I figured junk. Cut the plug and out fell a Seated at 4 inches from the grass. I dug a bunch more signals like that and got lots of nails. My friend showed up with his E2 and 12 Sun Ray Coil. He got a signal and called me over. I scanned and scanned the spot and could not even get a peep. He pulled his headphone cord so I could hear the very good loud signal both ways. He pulled a Civil War Token at 8 inches. Now that is the Bad News. Why couldn't I get the signal with the E-Trac? I am beginning to think that the E-Trac is a good bad ground machine, but not as good as the E2 for raw depth, any comment? I am not sure if my pictures got attached or not. If now maybe someone would tell me how to.

Not, Check the size of the picture, good story and did you try changing any settings?

Not sure what your settings are that you are using.
if you can,be very specific.
To get a pic on here click upload file,click browse,find your pic,click it,click open,then click upload,
it will take a little bit,then it will say it was attached to your message.and show up where it says attachments.

The only thing i know of is that the token was discriminated out,or the sensitivity wasn't letting you get that deep.
I always,Well,(almost always) run in manual,i hunted an old park like that yesterday,auto it would be at around 15-16,
so i ran it on manual at 29.

Not enough info... Could be a ton of reasons why you didn't hear it.

I reshot the pictures with the lowest resolution, but have cleaned the silver. I was using just a little mask from the bottom and the left side of the screen. deep on fast off. Sens set on 30 automatic and +3, working at 23. Sounds conductive Gain 30 response normal multi tones variability 30
tone limits 30 trash density high and ground difficult. I did not change any settings, because I couldn't think of anything to try.

In auto it will run at what the detector thinks is best for the ground.
if it was running at 16,you were probably only getting 4-5 inches depth.
on the left section of the four arrows if you push the right facing arrow,it will change it from auto to manual sensitivity.
then use the up arrow to raise the sensitivity.
all your other settings sounded ok,but in my experience,i love the coins mode.
not to be confused with,coins.
There is coins,and coins mode.Seems like a whole different machine in the coins mode program.
I just removed the discrimination in the very top R.H. corner.
All the other settings are the same as yours i think.
My gain is at 28,variability 30,limits 30,multi tones,trash density high,ground difficult.
sensitivity 26 or higher usually,Manual.
This is my preference,it works for me.
