Got my new E-Trac today!

Decided to take the plunge and get an E-Trac. I had been using the Explorer SE Pro so I do not think I will have a whole lot of trouble learning it.......;o) Hopefully I can get out today and do a trial run at a few local parks and post some finds.......I want to thank Larry at NWI for the sale and quick shipping.

Congratulations! You're going to love it! You number of finds are going to greatly increase and you find that it's much more user friendly than the SE.

Congrats on your new E Trac !!....Take you time with it , and read the manual and the book that came with it ....Re read it over and over ....It will take some time to adjust to the E Trac with all the variables there are at your disposal ......Try different things as you get comfortable with it .....Its a GREAT machine ....Good Luck , Jim

Congrats on your new E Trac, I got mine a week ago and read the manual a couple of times and most of the book once but still have no clue how this thing works. I found 21 cents so far. I have never used one before so I don't have any prior experience. Good Luck with yours

You'll like it a lot but... you'll love it if you forget the ExplorerSE and make a concious effort to not not try and make the E-TRAC be an Explorer 3. There are two really great things about the ET. that is the auto sens, it really works.. especially in minerals, I almost always run auto+3. Also the conductive line, being straightened makes the conductive "bounce" stay on the number. The conductive number is extremely reliable if the ferrous number is within a range around the 12 liine... you'll figure it out, it can change a little according to the site.

Also... accordingto A. Sabisch and from my experiance, it unmasks targets better with a little disc. The Exp works well with no disc but IMO the ET works better with a little disc. Andy's latest book is really good and includes a lot of input from ET users, including their patterns.

For coin hunting and at many sites CO.multi works well. At older sties with lots of iron Ferrous/2-tone really works well with the relic pattern. It knocks out most of the iron and lets the non-F come through... even the stuff that everyone else has missed... sometimes it will be a one way signal but if the CO number is right and the FE number is not too high... it is worth digging, even if it is one way... if you open the disc (check in QM with an open screen) on a target like that, the iron will overpower whatever is trying to be unmasked and you'll think it's just iron falsing. Sometimes it may be but many times it isn't.

Have fun!!

Congrats!!!!! Having owned 3 explorers and did really well with them after having some of the best out there teach me how to use it.... I'm slowly getting used to this machine.... It is different but for the better :) Congrats again.

Good luck with your new E-Trac Bill !

Reading and posting in this forum is a great way to learn about your machine.
Also, be sure to get a copy of Andy's Explorer & E-Trac Book - it goes way beyond the factory manual - it's a piece of gold !
Looking forward to seeing photo's and stories of your future finds !
