Got whipped by Ray Thursday, but I still managed 5 silver dimes and a Standing Beauty:super:

Had another great road trip with Ray on Thursday as we made another jaunt across the border to pillage their silver. I set my goal for 6 silver for the day to give me an even 75 on the season. I am now only 5 away from a record silver season for me and can only wonder what my season total would have been if I did not take off 4 months of detecting this summer.

I had a pretty consistent day finding silver every 90 minutes or so. Ended up with 5 silver dimes (4 mercs and a roosie) and topped it off with my first Standing Liberty quarter this year. Was really excited as this is my favorite coin.

I really thought a had Ray whipped good since he could only muster 1 merc by this point. I would love to finally beat him but this was almost embarrassing...... I almost felt sorry for him. But with only 90 minutes if daylight left Ray went on a silver streak like I have never seen in 25 years of detecting. Be sure to check out his post to see the damage he did. WTG Ray:super:

I do understand, the club went to a scout camp today for detecting..it was a downpour

Got a telephone call later and a friend who is a newbie with the Etrac shared his joy,
Barber Half, Walker Half, Standing Quarter, Merc and 2 Rosey's

Absolutely thrilled for him..Seriously
 
Bob, I have never had such a lucky streak in such a short time frame in my life. Persistence does pay off but I was starting to wonder about 5:00 pm.Great to have you their to share in the excitement and noticed you were grinning rather wide when you pulled the SLQ.Looking forward to our next adventure :twodetecting:
